A genuine mid-century Philco television, its original picture tube long gone, now holds a warm bed where the screen used to glow. The TV is lined in a deep navy floral wall paper with gold botanical linework, and a faux fur bed sits right where the picture once was. Flip the original "OFF-ON-VOLUME" knob and a hanging fluted glass fixture inside comes up warm and low, lighting the whole scene like a little stage set. It's the same knob your cat's owner has been turning for seventy years, just doing a different job now.
Below, behind a hinged door finished in the same navy-and-gold botanical motif, is a fully concealed litter box. Round cutout for easy access, black ceramic pull, and enough clearance for a standard-size pan and a deep scoop of litter.
The cabinet itself is untouched where it matters: original chrome control plate, original dial hardware, original proportions. Nothing about this reads as a craft project. It reads like a television that decided, sometime around 1958, to become something else entirely.
