About Nostalgic Nooks
THE ARTIST
Nostalgic Nooks is a boutique custom pet furniture shop started by former journalist Andrew Parsons. It was born at the intersection of vintage charm and pet-loving ingenuity.
After losing his job in February 2025, Andrew began taking discarded radios and televisions and transforming them into cozy, elegant beds for cats and small pets as a form of creative release. What started as a lifeline to pay bills became an aesthetic calling—each piece is refurbished with care, preserving original vintage character while repurposing it into functional art.
Andrew was a veteran audio journalist who worked at Slate Magazine, NPR, and co-founded Prologue Projects. He has also been an adjunct teacher at his alma mater, the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his two cats, dedicating himself full-time to making pet beds.
Beverley & Bramble
Beverley and Bramble are two street cats born across the street from Andrew. They were rescued by the local non-profit, Flatbush Cats. These two sisters inspired Andrew to make his very first upcycled cat bed in 2024, and continue to be a constant source of inspiration for every design.
